Start Date: Immediate or Upon Candidate Availability Status: Full Time, Salary Pay Range: $65,000+ Full Benefits: Paid Vacation, 401(k) Matching, Health, Vision & Dental Coverage Location: Homewood Disposal Corporate Office, Homewood, Illinois Job Summary As an Account Manager at Homewood Disposal, you’ll be putting your hard-earned education and sales experience to waste… You will be joining a family‑owned company that has been in business for over 70 years. This position is vital to our company’s image in professionalism and excellence; and is crucial to our long‑term success in the solid waste and recycling industry. Working as a member of our sales team, you will be a valued team member creating and maintaining long‑term business relationships with new and existing customers. Approximately 70% of your day will be working in the field as you travel throughout your territory, making cold calls, retention calls, visiting job sites / trailers, setting appointments, and following up on existing customer requests. The focus of this position is to solicit, grow, and maintain waste and recycling services to commercial and industrial customers throughout the Indiana region. The Homewood Disposal commercial accounts department is a fast‑paced environment, synchronizing our inside customer service and billing team with our outside sales team. This department serves our commercial and industrial sectors by providing professional and timely customer service. As one of the largest full‑service waste and recycling companies in the South Chicago and Northwest Indiana marketplace, we plan on continued growth in this region. The selected candidate must be detail oriented, self‑motivated, outgoing and demonstrates the desire to become an active member of our Homewood Disposal team! Requirements Four‑year degree or two years of relevant sales experience Excellent communication skills and a great customer service attitude A knowledge of local locations, towns, and directions Excel in working as a member of a team Proficiency with Email and Microsoft Office as well as a willingness to learn new software Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and achieve sales activity goals Self‑motivated, outgoing, positive, pleasant personality Reliable Form of Transportation Working Skills/Responsibilities Identify and submit proposals to new commercial and industrial accounts as well as general contractors Perform site inspections and surveys Complete daily paperwork accurately and efficiently Develop and sustain customer relationships Handle e‑mail correspondence to customers with a consistent and professional tone Listen to and resolve customer questions and concerns Assist with special projects as needed Routinely visit construction trailers / construction sites Navigate Lead Manager to seek out any new commercial construction in the area About Homewood Disposal At Homewood Disposal, you will work for a family‑owned and operated, third‑generation company that still adheres to the values it was founded on 70 years ago: community, family, service and stewardship.
