Work Environment

This position is primarily based onsite in our patients' homes, allowing for a personalized and flexible therapy experience. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of patients recovering from various injuries, diseases, or surgeries within their home settings.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques including exercise programs, stretching activities, and manual therapy to alleviate pain and promote recovery.
• Educate patients and their families about home safety, self-care techniques, and the proper use of therapeutic equipment to facilitate their rehabilitation process.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of treatment sessions, tracking progress and making adjustments to treatment strategies as necessary.
• Regularly reassess patients' therapeutic goals, providing updates and recommendations based on evolving needs and responses to treatment.
• Assist in fitting patients for assistive devices, ensuring they can safely ambulate and participate in daily activities.
• Engage in continuing education opportunities to stay abreast of the latest research, techniques, and trends in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse clientele, including children and adults facing challenges ranging from orthopedic injuries to neurological conditions. Your role is critical in helping patients regain their independence and quality of life through customized therapy solutions that are adapted to their individual circumstances and environments.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• At least two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in home care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in word processing and general computer skills to maintain patient records and documentation.
• A high degree of adaptability and flexibility to respond to varying patient needs and work environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in home health care or outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with assistive devices and rehabilitation equipment.
• Participation in community outreach or educational programs related to physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
