Your RoleBy exhibiting exceptional teamwork, boundless curiosity, and the utmost care, the Retail Human Resources Advisor will assist their team to fulfil Blick's commitment to our customers, the Arts, and our local communities.Primary Tasks: The Retail Human Resources Advisor partners with retail field leadership across four districts to deliver practical, business-focused human resources support. This role acts as a trusted advisor to District Managers and Store General Managers, helping drive performance, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure consistent execution of HR programs, policies, and compliance across the organization.The Retail Human Resources Advisor balances strategic partnership with hands-on execution, serving as the primary HR resource for day-to-day employee relations, talent management, and operational HR needs within the assigned regions.Field Partnership & Business SupportPartner with District Managers to support stores across four districts, aligning HR strategies with business objectivesProvide coaching and guidance to Store General Managers on performance management, employee engagement, and team effectivenessTravels to store locations to build relationships with teams, assess situations and/or provide in-person support as able and neededParticipate in district/regional calls and business reviews to identify people-related risks and opportunitiesEmployee RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actionConduct thorough, timely, and objective investigations; provide recommendations aligned with company policy and legal requirementsCoach leaders on consistent and appropriate application of policies and documentationPerformance ManagementSupport leaders in diagnosing performance issues and driving accountability through clear expectations and action plansPartner on progressive discipline, terminations, and complex performance situationsContribute to performance review cycles, ensuring consistency and quality across districtsTalent & Workforce PlanningPartner with field leadership on hiring strategies, workforce planning, and succession planningIdentify talent gaps and support development plans for key rolesCollaborate with recruiting to improve candidate quality and hiring outcomesTraining & DevelopmentSupport the rollout and reinforcement of training programs for Store General Managers and District ManagersCoach leaders on core management skills including feedback, coaching, and team developmentIdentify training needs based on trends in performance and employee relationsCompliance & Policy ExecutionEnsure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment laws across all locationsMonitor compliance trends and proactively address risksPartner with HR and Legal teams on policy interpretation and updatesHR Operations & ProjectsSupport implementation of HR initiatives, programs, and systems (e.g., performance management, engagement surveys, HRIS updates)Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, retention, etc.) to inform action plansContribute to cross-functional HR projects and continuous improvement effortsEducationBachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.Job Requirements5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-unit retail or field environmentStrong employee relations experience, including investigations and performance managementDemonstrated ability to influence and coach leaders at multiple levels Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws: Knowledge of employment laws relating to staffing and recruiting, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety training, and preventative labor relationsExperience with HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce or similar) and applicant tracking systems preferredBilingual preferredExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with othersEnthusiastic, energetic, approachable, and personableExcellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills: Ability to set priorities and organize time: Demonstrates initiative and can work independentlyStrong computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPointMust have the ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively and discreetly deal with sensitive issuesMust be willing to travel 50% or moreKey CompetenciesBusiness Acumen – Understands retail operations and aligns HR support to business outcomesJudgment & Decision Making – Applies sound, consistent judgment in complex situationsCoaching & Influence – Builds trust and effectively guides leaders through challenging situationsExecution – Balances multiple priorities and delivers timely, high-quality resultsData-Driven Mindset – Uses metrics and trends to inform decisionsPay RateThe pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws.
