Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health disorders, employing a range of assessment tools.
• Work closely with patients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on their unique needs and evidence-based practices.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages as necessary based on patient responses.
• Deliver psychotherapy and counseling services utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care practices.
• Document clinical assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress meticulously to facilitate effective care continuity.
• Schedule and conduct regular follow-up appointments to evaluate treatment efficacy and modify plans as needed.
• Engage in team meetings and case conferences to uphold the highest standards of patient care and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing various mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and more. Tailoring your approach to meet the cultural and individual needs of your clients is essential, as building trust and rapport is central to effective care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in nursing with a focus on psychiatric and mental health nursing.
• Current Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Active, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Texas.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a home care or community-based setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches and a proven track record in providing psychotherapy.
• Prior experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
