Accounts Payable Manager

Department: Finance Location: New York, NY Reports to: Financial Controller Direct Reports: None Annual Salary: $105,000 Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days in office) Key Responsibilities Manage the Company’s end-to-end accounts payable process ensuring the accurate and timely approval, processing, and payment of invoices. Responsible for vendor onboarding, invoice coding and processing, payment approvals, and responses to vendor inquiries. Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy, ensuring all costs are approved by the appropriate Manager, and transactions are posted correctly into the accounting system before being presented for payment. Lead the bi-weekly payment runs with the VP Finance and Financial Controller. Ensure vendor banking information is vetted/verified before being added to the Company’s banking application and ensure that no fraudulent payments are made. Prepare ACH, Wire, and Direct Debit payments in Company’s banking applications. Maintain excellent working relationships with vendors and employees in support of A/P procedures, responding and following up on internal inquiries quickly and courteously. Maintain, update, and create new vendors in Company’s accounting system. Reconcile the monthly Accounts Payable subledger balance to the G/L. Investigate and recommend process improvement opportunities in relation to the accounts payable process. Assist the accounting team with other tasks during the monthly and yearly financial closing process (e.g. account reconciliations, roll forwards schedules, 1099 reporting, audit requests, etc.). Prepare ad hoc analyses as requested. Skills & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g finance or accounting) with 5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable (i.e. onboarding vendors, managing approval processes, setting up bank payments, expense reporting, presenting payment runs, etc.) Private accounting experience preferred. A general understanding of accounting concepts and reporting principles. Financial systems/accounting software skills required, preferably NetSuite. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills required. Good organizational skills. Able to handle a high work volume. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Acute attention to detail. Strong proactive work ethic, positive attitude, and a team-player.
