It is our mission to engage and inspire students from preschool to graduation, guiding them to success with individualized support, career exploration, and scholarships. Partnership 4 Kids operates in 9 different Omaha Public Schools between Middle School and High School.
About The Role
P4K is seeking a Tutoring Director to develop and implement tutoring programs across nine total schools within the Omaha Public School District. The Tutoring Director will be required to maintain clear and comprehensive communication with all relevant parties, ensuring the tutoring programs run effectively and efficiently for the benefit of over 800 students across the district.
Essential Job Functions – High Dosage Tutoring
- Execute tutoring programs at four locations. One each at RM Marrs, McMillan, Monroe, and Norris Middle Schools.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train 25+ tutors to ensure coverage for all tutoring programs.
- Meet regularly with contact persons at four target middle schools for progress monitoring purposes
- Collaborate with the schools and the district to select and implement appropriate curriculum for each grade level.
- Select students for tutoring program based on data collected by OPS and create tutoring groups with input from the Instructional Facilitator and/or Counselors at each school
- Develop relationships and positive culture within tutoring team to maintain high tutor retention rate
- Review student data in collaboration with each tutoring location to track student growth and tutor effectiveness.
- Confirm clear expectations for reports required from OPS before school year begins, to ensure accurate record keeping of key data points
- Ensure tutoring classrooms stay stocked with necessary supplies and that student folders are organized for ease of all stakeholders.
- Utilize community relationships and connections to source high quality tutors before tutoring start date
- Maintain consistent communication with building principals and district administrators to keep them informed of tutoring program and tutors’ employment status
- Review and approve tutor timesheets biweekly.
- Collaborate with P4K HR Coordinator to onboard new tutors in an efficient, accurate manner
- Collaborate with P4K HR Coordinator to enforce progressive disciplinary procedures and outline expectations for all tutors
- Communicate clearly with tutors about their schedules and expectations for behavior, dress code, and attendance
- Create and administer mid-year and end of year evaluation forms for tutors
- Schedule and conduct beginning, middle, and end of year meetings with tutors to ensure consistent communication and tutor quality assurance
- Send monthly invoices to building principals, instructional facilitators, and any relevant district personnel by due date each month to ensure timely reimbursement of tutoring costs

- Contributes to individual, team and agency goals by assisting with programming, volunteer and development goals, including special projects and all other duties as assigned.
Participates in agency committees as needed. Attends relevant trainings focusing on AmeriCorps compliance and grants, community resources and tutoring.

Position & Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required and master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with student populations in academic support/education
- Ability to screen, interview and hire qualified tutor candidates
- Management training and/or experience supervising staff
- Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work efficiently within a team setting, share ideas and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, varying exceptionalities, and other academic deficits
- Some weekend and evening availability is required.
- Daily access to a reliable vehicle is required for travel to schools and agency activities. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record must be maintained throughout employment.
