Research Senior Associate- Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology

Job Title Research Senior Associate - Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology Department Medicine | School of Biomedical Sciences, Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology Responsibilities Research Senior Associate who designs, executes and manages research projects investigating dynamic chromatin organization and function in a foundational (basic) biological/health science research laboratory in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology. Collaborates with the principal investigator (PI) to develop and implement goals and objectives of studies, conceptualizes, designs, and executes complex laboratory experiments, plans and executes advanced molecular and cellular imaging and high‑throughput sequencing techniques, and coordinates data processing and analysis. Analyzes and interprets research data, develops and implements new and/or revised research methodology and techniques, and tests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods. Establishes research controls, criteria and standards, performs critical literature analysis, collaborates to write and prepare research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, and assists with grant proposal writing and budget management to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding. Investigates, identifies, and recommends possible sources of research funding, monitors expenses, ensures laboratory safety procedures comply with OSHA and other regulations, trains and supervises research staff, manages daily laboratory operations, initiates procurement of supplies and equipment, and oversees equipment service contracts and repairs. Minimum Education Master’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications Master's Degree or equivalent experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 1 year of relevant experience required with a Master’s Degree. Considerable experience in a biological/health research capacity is required. A Doctoral degree in an appropriate biological/health science field is desirable.
