Duties

Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.

Maintains oversight of federal regulatory and agency-level requirements; develops, implements, and maintains center-level industrial hygiene/health physics and occupational health programs to ensure compliance and provide a safe workplace.

Provides services for center compliance with hazardous materials management and chemical use restrictions.

Coordinates with the occupational medical clinic and employee assistance programs for the center to ensure compliance to medical surveillance of NASA and regulatory requirements.

Serves as a technical expert responsible for the coordination of the center's industrial hygiene programs, including exposure assessments, hazard evaluations, occupational health, and regulatory compliance.

Coordinates the development, selection, and oversight of government-provided environmental and occupational health services, ensuring regulatory and policy requirements are followed.
