Associate Attorney for Family Law Practice

A growing and well-established family law practice is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or attorney with up to one year of experience who is interested in developing a career in family law. The position offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced attorneys, and direct client interaction from the outset.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with family law matters involving:
• Divorce and legal separation
• Child custody and parenting time
• Child support and maintenance
• Property division
• Post-decree modifications and enforcement actions
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Conduct legal research and prepare case memoranda
• Attend court appearances, status hearings, and mediations with supervising attorneys
• Manage case files and maintain case deadlines
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts
• Participate in client meetings and strategy discussions

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois or awaiting IL bar admission
• 0-1 years of legal experience
• Interest in family law and litigation
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
