Business Development Specialist- Small Parcel & E-Commerce

Summary:

As a member of a sales team, the acquisition specialist is responsible for closing net-new business within a defined geographic territory (major and metro markets). Responsible for developing value propositions and customized pricing and closing business by positioning solutions to meet the customer’s needs.

Essential Functions

• Closes new business opportunities by conducting background research on potential customers, discussing the customer’s supply chain with decision makers and other appropriate customer representatives, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing value propositions and customized pricing.
• Owns the Critical Closing Phase: Collaborates within a structured multi-tier sales pipeline, taking qualified opportunities initiated by Sales Development Representatives to present the value proposition, navigate the middle of the sales cycle, and successfully close the business before seamlessly transitioning the client to an Account Manager.
• Maintains regular and consistent communication with managers and sales representatives and peers within the Sales organization, related to joint sales call opportunities, lead generation, etc. in support of new/incremental revenue.
• Navigates internal, cross-functional processes to coordinate and collaborate on support and solutions with internal teams to provide a seamless and outstanding customer experience and close incremental business.
• Produces and presents both competitive and market-based pricing and customized strategic pricing to customers using mid to senior level negotiation skills.
• Collaborates with sales peers, marketing, finance, operations, and other areas as appropriate in identifying issues and developing/implementing solutions to support retention/growth of revenue.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong negotiation and pricing skills, value quantification and knowledge of CAT tool preferred

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent (Equivalency reflected under minimum experience)

Minimum Experience (in lieu of bachelor’s degree)

Four (4) years of business-to-business sales experience OR two (2) years of the Company's business-to-business sales experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strategic Relationship Sales Focus: Proven experience transitioning clients from transactional buyers into strategic, long-term partners, with a strong focus on high-velocity B2B, e-commerce, and small parcel logistics. (Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus).

Job Conditions

Moderate overnight travel required.

The desired location for this position is Moonachie, NJ or Newark, NJ or Elizabeth. NJ/Northern NJ area. Position is not eligible for sponsorship. This is a customer-facing role that requires regular in‑person meetings. Candidates must live within a 50‑mile radius of Moonachie, NJ or Newark, NJ or Elizabeth, NJ or surrounding cities within the territory.

Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available based upon business needs.

Pay Transparency:  This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current  starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors  permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement. 

Pay:  Pay Grade: SP3 ($5,534.38/month - $8,855.00/month)
