Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager with strong QuickBooks Desktop expertise to oversee high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, reconciliations, and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable stepping into an environment that needs organization and structure. This individual will help resolve existing issues, establish efficient workflows, and strengthen AP processes. Key Responsibilities Oversee high-volume accounts payable processing, handling approximately 500-1,000 invoices per month. Perform and ensure accuracy of three-way matching for invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor billing issues, and payment questions. Reconcile statements for the top 20 vendors against the AP aging report on a weekly basis. Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and processed. Identify and resolve outstanding AP issues, discrepancies, and process inefficiencies. Develop, implement, and document standardized procedures to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. Help organize and streamline existing AP operations, including cleaning up backlogs or disorganized processes. Maintain effective communication with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. Required Qualifications Expert-level QuickBooks Desktop experience required. Experience managing high-volume accounts payable operations. Ability to process 500-1,000 invoices monthly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong understanding of three-way matching and vendor statement reconciliations. Proven ability to investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies independently. Experience improving disorganized AP processes and implementing effective procedures. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent vendor communication and follow-up skills.
