Laboratory Logistics CoordinatorLocation: 1 DNA Way, South San Francisco, CA 94080Contract Duration: 4 months initially, with potential for quarterly extensions up to 3 years based on performancePay Rate: $25/hour (W2)Benefits: Weekly Pay, Medical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePosition Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Logistics Coordinator to support Material Operations & Lab Services. This role will be responsible for inventory management, material receiving, packing and shipping, warehouse operations, and customer support while ensuring compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory and warehouse environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with management and Material Operations & Lab Services teams to achieve operational goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.Maintain compliance with applicable internal and external regulations, including Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) requirements.Manage inventory levels for laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, glassware, equipment, and other materials across multiple departments.Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure reagents, equipment, and other resources are available to support project and operational needs.Minimize operational delays and prevent interruptions to customer processes caused by warehouse or material-related issues.Follow established requirements for material handling, storage, and temperature control.Inspect incoming materials to verify documentation, quantities, and condition.Prepare receiving documentation and shipping paperwork.Package materials according to appropriate shipping and handling requirements.Troubleshoot operational issues and provide support to Material Operations teams.Follow all required safety procedures and properly use available personal protective and safety equipment.Participate in safety awareness programs, training, and cross-functional training activities.Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse processes, equipment, and procedures.Respond to customer inquiries through email, phone, and in-person communication.Serve as a liaison between customers and Material Operations & Lab Services personnel.Attend departmental meetings and participate in projects as assigned.Provide regular updates to supervisors and leads regarding work progress, status, and operational issues.Adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities across Material Operations functions.Effectively manage multiple daily responsibilities and assigned projects.Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment.Demonstrate proficiency with material-handling equipment and applicable computer systems.Complete assigned work within established timelines and effectively prioritize daily activities.Meet project and operational deadlines and communicate potential delays as appropriate.Maintain compliance with company policies, applicable laws, GNE requirements, and DOT regulations.Complete all required training, certifications, and training records on time.Complete Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training and demonstrate safe and proficient operation.Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance.Work collaboratively and professionally in a diverse environment.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Work 40 hours per week, with overtime, weekends, and off-shift work as required.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required.One of the following: College-level coursework in biological sciences and/or physical sciences, or AA/AS degree in a related science discipline.Previous experience in material packing/handling, inventory management, warehousing, or logistics is preferred but not required.Knowledge of safe chemical handling is a plus.Experience or training in LEAN, Operational Excellence, or continuous improvement is a plus.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, safety, and attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong initiative and commitment to safety and operational excellence.Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.Must be willing to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as needed.Must be able to complete all required training and certifications within established timelines.Interview ProcessThe interview process will be in person.One panel interview with multiple interviewers.Candidates should be prepared to discuss their experience with logistics, material handling, inventory, safety, customer service, and working in a team environment.Experience RequirementNo minimum years of experience are required. Based on performance and business needs, the assignment may be renewed on a quarterly basis, with the potential for a total length of service of up to 3 years.
