Clinical Supervisor

Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 Organization The Center for Autism and Related Disorders is seeking highly motivated professionals to join our team. CARD treats autistic individuals using applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is empirically proven to be the most effective method. Through its network of trained behavior technicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and researchers, CARD develops and implements quality, comprehensive, and individualized treatment programs. 1000 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 120 & 130 Monterey Park, California 91754 Position Overview The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for all clinical aspects of treatment for the patients they oversee. This includes assessment, analysis, and development of treatment plans; overseeing implementation; collaborating with and training patient caregivers; and ongoing coaching and training of behavioral technicians. Treatment plans are designed to address medical necessity and may occur in various settings including the CARD center, patient’s home, school, community, or via telehealth. Clinical Supervisors report to the Group Clinical Manager. This is a salaried, exempt, full‑time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use clinical judgment to promote optimal outcomes for each patient. Develop and maintain treatment plans. Ensure that all supervision hours are at 100% treatment adherence each month. Evaluate patients to identify skill deficits and strengths. Analyze challenging behaviors to identify their function. Develop functionally relevant treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors. Observe treatment implementation for potential program revisions. Monitor treatment integrity to ensure satisfactory implementation of protocols. Direct behavior technicians in implementing new or revised treatment protocols. Provide ongoing coaching and training to behavioral technicians. Work physically within the center to support technicians and follow best practices of direct observation. Summarize and analyze data to evaluate patient progress and adjust protocols based on data. Update treatment plans at least once per month based on patient response. Fulfill a minimum of 120 payor/client authorized billable hours per month, inclusive of supervisory and therapy hours. Accurately communicate treatment response to stakeholders (caregivers, payers). Coordinate care with other professionals. Administer, complete, and score standardized assessments. Include caregiver as part of the treatment team, evidenced by consistent caregiver collaboration meetings. Interact with payers in a collaborative, professional, thorough, and informative manner. Engage with payers for funding meetings (IEP, peer reviews). Stay up to date on best practices for ABA treatment to ensure clinical excellence. Maintain appropriate documentation in Skills and the patient’s medical record. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues. Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements at all times. Partner consistently and effectively with other center leadership including Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Administrative Coordinator Technician, Behavior Technician Leads. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Master’s degree in Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis or related field required. Certification as a behavior analyst from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board required. Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Empathetic and compassionate, maintaining strict confidentiality. Work collaboratively with team members while maintaining a positive, solution‑focused attitude. Work independently to problem solve and exercise clinical judgment. Effective communicator in both verbal and written formats. Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook; able to use new systems and iPads. Desire to continuously learn and develop skillsets. Willingness to work in a variety of locations (center, patient home, etc.). Willingness to work with a variety of patients. Reliable means of transportation with proof of auto insurance. Must pass tuberculosis test. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Work Environment Treatment may occur in a variety of settings including the patient’s home, the CARD center, the patient’s school, the community, or via telehealth. Clinical Supervisors work indoors and outdoors and may move between different locations throughout the day. Treatment environments may be subject to loud or excessive noise. Physical Requirements Work with patients seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other environments. Move frequently throughout the setting to gather materials and respond to patient movement. Constantly position oneself to participate and respond to patient movements, including bending, kneeling, hurrying, or reaching to prevent unsafe situations. Utilize continuous visual tracking to monitor patient movement and surroundings. Occasionally evade aggressive behaviors and/or physically block attempts to aggress toward others; may need to bear weight of a patient leaning or pushing. Teach patients to use vocal speech; articulate sound and model speaking clearly, listen, and shape vocal communication. Use modeling to teach gross motor skills (climbing, jumping) and fine motor skills (clapping, opening a container). Work in indoor and outdoor settings, including weather conditions. Lift up to 30 lbs while assisting patients. Management of Employer & Patient Property Will manage employer & patient property.
