Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the home environment of clients, implementing tailored treatment plans to support mental health needs.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, encouraging peer interaction and fostering social skills.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to teach anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills, actively working to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors or physical aggression.
\n
• Engage with youth and their families to enhance decision-making skills that assist in managing in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to develop cohesive treatment strategies that align with our organizational goals.
\n
• Complete all necessary documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within stipulated timeframes to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly meetings to review cases and present professional recommendations aimed at improving client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be children aged 3 to 20, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. It is essential to understand the unique experiences of these families and demonstrate empathy and advocacy for their needs. You will work not just with the children but also with their caregivers, providing guidance and strategies that aim to improve the overall family dynamic and support systems.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Colorado.
\n
• A commitment to availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours from 4-7 pm; weekend availability is a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support to children with developmental disabilities.

• Experience working with children and families in situations of behavioral challenges or emotional distress.
\n
• Familiarity with bilingual therapy, specifically Spanish or Portuguese, is highly preferred due to the diverse community we serve.
