Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care / Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Four 12-hour shifts per week accepted. Holiday coverage on 12/24 and 12/25 is mandatory; limited time-off availability from 12/22 through 1/5.

• Dual-unit assignment covering Thoracic IMC and Acute Medical/Progressive Care units with diverse patient populations including thoracic surgery, cardiac stepdown, and hospitalist patients
• 3:1 patient ratio across all shifts with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Exposure to advanced procedures including chest tube management, post-surgical thoracic care (lobectomies, esophagectomies, lung volume reduction), cardiac catheterization, and transplant patients
• Strong teamwork culture focused on compassionate care, critical thinking, and evidence-based nursing practices

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, or PCU/IMC/stepdown settings
• Required experience: ventilator management, transplant patients, telemetry interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-operative experience required; thoracic surgery experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria: 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms, 100% accuracy on third-degree heart blocks, and minimum 80% overall score
• Proficiency in clinical skills including arterial line management, central line care, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, heparin protocols, vasoactive drip titration, wound care, and IV management
• Current flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
