THE JOB The Food and Beverage Manager assists with management of the Food and Beverage teams in assigned restaurants to ensure guests receive the highest level of service and quality on a daily and consistent basis. The role includes supervising subordinate supervisors/lead personnel who oversee team members in the assigned restaurants and/or In Room Dining, providing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Key responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance, rewarding team members, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Planning department goals and directing team members to achieve results. Monitoring day‑to‑day restaurant operations to ensure standards of product presentation and service exceed guest expectations and meet or exceed property standards. Taking corrective action as needed and driving budgeted revenues while controlling expenses and maximizing profitability. Utilizing corporate approved computer programs to analyze forecasts, cost and revenue reports and making recommendations based on that information. Ensuring quality and portion control while minimizing waste or loss of supplies to maintain profitability. Providing outstanding, consistent, exceptional service by circulating through each dining area and handling guest concerns or complaints immediately. Maintaining cleanliness, proper inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. Ensuring compliance with all food and beverage regulations and monitoring SOPs for consistent exceptional service. Recommending updates to policies and procedures and participating in weekly meetings with the Food & Beverage Management Team to ensure goals, challenges, and service standards are met. REQUIREMENTS Two years of food and beverage experience, including management/supervisory experience in a high‑volume restaurant. Hotel experience desired. Ability to lead others by mentoring and providing training that results in staff that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, move, and pull moderate amounts of weight. Ability to monitor labor as required by anticipating business activity while ensuring positions are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met. Excellent customer service and communication skills to work with guests and provide high satisfaction. Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts as required by operational needs.
