RBHS Instructor/Assistant Professor; Non-Tenure Track

Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of patient care and ensuring proper post‑treatment management, including recare Ensure that the standards, policies and procedures of RSDM, as outlined in the Clinic Manual, Radiation Hazard, Infection Control, Patient’s Bill of Rights, Confidentiality policies, and Quality Assurance protocols are followed at the sites Supervise and instruct students in their respective disciplines, by demonstration when required Review records of patients whose treatment has been documented as completed Review patient records prior to termination of patient treatment with proper documentation in the consultation section Ensure, with site faculty, that RSDM standards for the education of students are maintained Conduct small group discussions with students when possible Participate in CODE faculty standardization and calibration Perform evaluation of students’ competencies Assist in quality and quantity review for all dental personnel when requested Remain current in the field of dentistry at a level applicable to the title Accomplish dentistry using pharmacological adjuncts depending on individual circumstances and dentist qualifications Consult with the medical staff in cases showing oral manifestations of medical conditions and be available for consultation for oral pathology and related conditions of common interest Arrange program and treatment for patients experiencing oral trauma, oral pain, oral infection and other pathology Assist in conducting program of preventive dentistry, dental education and oral hygiene Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth, gingiva, mucosa, and related oral structures with reasonable patient‑acceptable sensitivity Cleans, restores, extracts and replaces teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications and surgical instruments Administers local anesthesia and other supportive medication Keeps such records and reports as are necessary for the discharge and control of patients Serves on call, administratively, operationally and clinically and handles dental emergencies Understand and adhere to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and change or modify Ensure that staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs Perform other related duties as assigned Benefits Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage Paid vacation, holidays, and various leave programs Competitive retirement benefits, including defined contribution plans and voluntary tax‑deferred savings options Employee and dependent educational benefits (when applicable) Life insurance coverage Employee discount programs Required Education and Experience A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited school Must possess or be eligible for a New Jersey dental license Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting – some for extended periods of time Equal Employment Opportunity Statement It is university policy to provide equal employment opportunity to all its employees and applicants for employment regardless of their race, creed, color, national origin, age, ancestry, nationality, marital or domestic partnership or civil union status, sex, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, disability status, liability for military service, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, atypical cellular or blood trait, genetic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing), or any other category protected by law.
