Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location Kansas City, MO Unit Information Unit Name: 4 North Cardiac Telemetry Number of Beds: 29 Patient Ratios: 1:4 Unit Staffing Description: Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) Type of Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap in each room, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, Imobile for team communication Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: Full-time hours including three weekend shifts per scheduling period Floating Policy: Contract Nurses may be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency Patient Experience Requirements: Align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, responding to call lights, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift reports, and ensuring patients know how to communicate with staff Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set Required Experience: Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience Advanced Skills Needed: Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (e.g., Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements). Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone Procedures Performed on Unit: IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemakers, Foley insertions Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Dress Code Navy blue scrubs are required.
