Accounts Payable Assistant

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent manufacturer in the McHenry, IL area, is seeking an Account Payable Assistant to join their team! This is a climate-controlled facility offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!


Accounts Payable Assistant - Temporary Assignment
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.


Pay rate-26.50ph


Main tasks
• Accounts Payable (Primary Responsibility):
o Ensure the accurate and timely payment of all vendor invoices according to the defined procedures
o Accounts payable processing: Primary responsibilities, as assigned alphabetically, include backup re-sponsibility for team members as needed
? They will average processing 150-200 invoices weekly
o Obtain required approvals for all invoices
? They must have good communication and be able to reach out to managers of all levels
o Match receivers and packing slips to invoices through a 3-way match when applicable
o Clerically check the mathematical accuracy of all invoices
o Review the general ledger account assigned to invoices for accuracy
o Process invoices for payment in the ERP system accurately, including identifying 1099 reportable transac-tions
o Maintain accounts payable vendor files for assigned accounts
o Obtain all required government forms applicable to vendors
o Process weekly disbursements for all disbursement types (ACH, Wire, Check, & Credit Card)
o Bring any suspicious activity to the attention of upper management
6 Skill set
6.1 Qualifications
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
6.2 Experience
• 2-3 years' experience in accounts payable
• Accounting experience within a manufacturing or distribution industry environment preferred
• Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience with an ERP systems, SAP preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy
6.3 Other knowledge
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English
• Apply principles of logical thinking to solve practical problems
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Excel Skills (pivot tables, Vlookups, sumifs)
