Mental Health Clinician I/II – Shasta County Salary: Mental Health Clinician I: $5,886–$7,513 approximate monthly ($33.96–$43.35 approximate hourly). Mental Health Clinician II: $6,490–$8,283 approximate monthly ($37.44–$47.49 approximate hourly). Responsibilities Mental Health Clinician I: Conducts clinical interviews and assessments; provides crisis intervention, individual, group, and collateral psychotherapy; documents clinical case management; attends departmental and community meetings and training activities. Mental Health Clinician II: Performs case management and rehabilitative treatment; develops treatment plans; provides individual and group therapy for adults and children; coordinates with team members and community agencies; maintains documentation of services. Qualifications Mental Health Clinician I: Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Counseling; holds or is pursuing intern registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; maintains registration; able to apply biopsychosocial assessment and treatment planning; demonstrates professional communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. Mental Health Clinician II: Licensed Mental Health Clinician by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; experienced in case management and rehabilitative treatment; competent in developing treatment plans and providing individual/group therapy; strong counseling and documentation skills. Knowledge of mental health treatment principles, procedures, literature, and documentation standards for public and private reimbursement. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies; maintain an objective, empathetic, and non‑judgmental approach. Special Requirements Clinician I: Must maintain active current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners and obtain licensing within six years of initial registration; registration may be renewed up to five times and must not exceed six years since issuance. Clinician II: Must hold and maintain valid licensure through the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. Both classifications may require a valid California driver license.
