Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while engaging directly with students, parents, and schools. Although you will have the advantage of remote work, you will be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team consisting of educators, healthcare professionals, and social workers dedicated to creating positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify the emotional, social, and financial needs of students and their families.

• Provide individual and group counseling addressing common issues such as grief, trauma, and coping strategies relevant to the student population.

• Collaborate closely with educational staff to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that include psychosocial considerations for students needing additional support.
\n
• Coordinate care by connecting families with community resources and services post-discharge, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Participate in school meetings and committees, providing expertise on the impact of psychosocial factors on student learning and development.
\n
• Conduct crisis intervention and provide immediate counseling to students in distress, fostering a safe and supportive school environment.

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

• Implement discharge plans effectively, ensuring that students have access to necessary resources and follow-up care upon leaving the school environment.

• Engage in outreach to increase awareness of mental health resources available to families in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the student population, including children and adolescents facing various challenges such as mental health disorders, behavioral issues, and social pressures. Supporting families is also a critical aspect of this role, as you will work collaboratively to empower them with knowledge, resources, and coping strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

• Knowledge of mental health disorders, child development, and crisis intervention strategies.

• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and interpersonal interactions to effectively engage with students, families, and educators.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of experience in a healthcare or educational setting is preferred, especially working with children and families, candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to student mental health and well-being will be considered.
