Merck's Future Talent Program offers a 12-week internship in the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalytics group to develop a juvenile animal PBPK model with AI-enabled workflows. The role supports translational science and drug development while building computational and scientific skills.
Responsibilities
- Build and develop juvenile animal PBPK models incorporating physiological maturation data
- Create AI-enabled workflows for knowledge generation and reusable scientific resources
- Extract and synthesize quantitative parameters from literature for model development
- Prepare technical summaries and present project progress at the intern symposium
- Deliver proof-of-concept model and scientific review document on juvenile toxicity study considerations
Requirements
- Pursuing Master's or Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, or related discipline
- Experience with PBPK modeling, mechanistic modeling, systems pharmacology, or mathematical modeling
- Ability to conduct literature searches and extract quantitative parameters from publications
- Full-time availability for 12 consecutive weeks starting May or June 2027
- Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and scientific communication
- Experience with modeling software such as Simcyp, GastroPlus, PK-Sim, MATLAB, or R preferred
