Merck's Future Talent Program offers a 10-12 week summer internship in Marketing Procurement within the Global Supplier Management Group. Interns will support strategic sourcing initiatives, conduct market analyses, and work cross-functionally across procurement, finance, legal, and business divisions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed supplier and supply market analyses to provide insights to sourcing teams
- Build cost models and purchase price analyses for goods and services
- Monitor supplier performance, investigate root causes, assess and mitigate risks
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives including RFIs, RFPs, and e-auctions with structured analysis
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting on category spend, savings, and compliance metrics
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as sophomore or junior pursuing bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, market research, communications, or science discipline
- Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with cross-functional collaboration ability
- Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and enterprise social media platforms
- Project management skills with ability to work independently and adapt to ambiguous situations
- Quick learner motivated to develop technical, business, and commercial expertise
