School-Based Physical Therapist - Destrehan, LA

Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, ideal for professionals who thrive on consistent hours and the chance to foster long-term connections with their caseload.

This onsite role involves working as an itinerant physical therapist, enriching the educational experience for approximately 35 students across all grade levels. In this highly collaborative environment, you’ll travel between campuses within the district to deliver essential PT services, ensuring every student receives the care and support they need to achieve their educational goals.

Qualifications:

Current Physical Therapy (PT) state license required
Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
Solid understanding of IEP development and documentation
Ability to collaborate with educators and related service teams
Strong communication and time management skills
Commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care

Your Role:

Assess students referred for PT and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs
Deliver direct and consultative PT services, promoting independence and access to the curriculum
Document progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
Educate staff and families on strategies for maximizing student outcomes
Travel between school sites as needed to support the itinerant model
