Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions either in the client’s home or via teletherapy platforms, ensuring personalized, evidence-based treatment is delivered.

• Provide specialized support regarding anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development, effectively addressing and minimizing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions and physical aggression.
\n
• Collaborate with caregivers and adolescents to enhance decision-making skills, aiming to establish effective behavior management within family dynamics.
\n
• Work in partnership with our dedicated Child Family Treatment Team and additional professionals from various disciplines to create a cohesive support network for families.
\n
• Manage documentation efficiently, including the completion of intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
\n
• Participate in monthly interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and recommend strategies to enhance client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on children aged 3 to 20, particularly those with developmental disabilities and other cognitive challenges. Your expertise will be crucial in providing tailored therapeutic interventions that address specific behavioral and emotional difficulties, thereby enriching the lives of those you serve. A bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desired, as it enables better communication and care for our diverse client population.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or related fields is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is essential.

• A commitment to working a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) is required; flexibility on weekends is a plus.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavioral support to children with various needs.

• Prior involvement working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is advantageous.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting, consistent with best practices in child safety.

Compensation and Benefits\n
