Assistant Project Manager – Multifamily Construction Industry: Multifamily Construction Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 Base Salary (DOE) + Bonus + Benefits Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join their growing construction team specializing in ground‑up and renovation multifamily residential projects throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to work alongside experienced Project Managers on high‑profile apartment, mixed‑use, and affordable housing developments. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to develop into a Project Manager while working in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal project teams. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation. Track project budgets, commitments, and cost reports. Assist with project scheduling and milestone tracking. Review drawings and specifications to identify coordination issues. Participate in owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings. Support procurement and buyout activities. Monitor project progress and help ensure schedule, quality, and safety objectives are achieved. Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation. Build strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 2–5 years of experience in commercial or multifamily construction. Experience with ground‑up or renovation multifamily projects is highly preferred. Working knowledge of construction documents, scheduling, and project management processes. Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software is a plus. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Preferred Experience Wood‑frame podium, Type III, Type V, or concrete multifamily projects. Affordable housing, mixed‑use, or market‑rate residential developments. Exposure to OSHPD/HCAI, prevailing wage, or public works projects is a plus.
