Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed assessments to evaluate clients’ symptoms related to eating disorders as well as any co-occurring mental health issues. This includes utilizing diagnostic tools and interviews to comprehensively understand each client's unique challenges.

• Develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting personalized and attainable recovery goals. This includes engaging clients in discussions about their treatment options based on evidence-based approaches.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) during regular therapy sessions to promote healthier coping mechanisms.

• Guide clients through therapy sessions aimed at addressing distorted beliefs and enhancing their understanding of body image, food relationships, and self-esteem.
\n
• Empower clients by teaching essential coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, and methods to confront and resist disordered eating habits.
\n
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated care, seamlessly addressing clients’ comprehensive needs while promoting their overall wellness.

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about eating disorders, contributing to a deeper understanding and supportive recovery environment.

• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and therapy notes, adhering to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development sessions to foster clinical knowledge, promote team cohesion, and align with best practices in eating disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

We focus primarily on clients dealing with various eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Our therapists provide individualized care to help clients navigate their unique experiences, facilitating recovery in a supportive and understanding environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Tennessee.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapies specific to eating disorders, particularly CBT, DBT, and ACT.
\n
• A thorough understanding of the multifactorial nature of eating disorders and associated co-occurring conditions.
\n
• Excellent communication abilities to establish a trustful rapport with clients and their families.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of experience working in a mental health setting with a focus on eating disorders or similar populations.
