Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients' needs and accurately document their cases from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized assessment tools, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their unique challenges.

• Develop and implement effective intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions focused on recovery-oriented outcomes, using evidence-based practices.
\n
• Monitor client progress in accordance with established treatment plans, making adjustments as necessary to meet therapeutic goals.
\n
• Collaborate cohesively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and medical doctors, to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Provide follow-up support for clients admitted to hospitals, maintaining communication with attending healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

• Identify behaviors that may impede the recovery process and implement strategies to address them effectively.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve may include individuals dealing with a variety of mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and addiction disorders. You will be working with a diverse patient population who require individualized and compassionate care to navigate their unique mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited academic institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
\n
• A minimum passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven track record of experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong theoretical foundation and practical skills in psychotherapy.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred to ensure smooth documentation and client management.

• In-depth understanding of the intersection of physical health concerns and mental health, including knowledge of addiction-related issues.

• Expertise in American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices is an asset.
\n
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are essential for client interaction and record-keeping.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a deep-seated empathetic nature are crucial for building trust and rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
