Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial interviews and assessments, documenting client cases accurately from the first consultation to discharge.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment and intervention plans for a diverse population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring approaches are evidence-based and culturally sensitive.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions, both individually and in group settings, to guide clients in their journey toward improved mental health.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and keeping detailed records within electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team consisting of other mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers, following up with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers regarding clients who require hospitalization.
\n
• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, offering strategies and resources to clients and their families, assisting them in managing mental behavioral challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with a diverse clientele experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other behavioral health challenges. Our clients span various demographics, and we prioritize culturally competent care that respects their unique backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current valid licensure as a LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score in the NCE or NCMHCE exams.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective client interaction and documentation.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a natural inclination toward empathy and support for others facing mental health challenges.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor in a community health clinic or similar environment.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, for effective client management.
\n
• Experience addressing physical health conditions and addiction disorders that often accompany mental health issues.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices set by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the ability to apply them in clinical settings.
