Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform comprehensive assessments and screenings to accurately identify patient mental health needs and devise tailored treatment plans.

• Deliver individual therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to help patients cope with a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.

• Lead engaging therapy groups and workshops, focusing on areas such as stress reduction, emotional regulation, and life skills development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a part of our counseling center, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base that ranges from adolescents to adults, each facing their unique mental health challenges. You will be instrumental in creating individualized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of each patient while addressing the broader social determinants influencing mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• Active licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Virginia.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.

• Deep understanding of the mental health challenges faced by patients, particularly those within an outpatient counseling context.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective therapy sessions and teamwork.

• Proficient knowledge of evidence-based practices suitable for individual and group therapy settings.

• A proactive approach to managing a diverse caseload while meeting the demands of a dynamic therapeutic environment.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical mental health counseling setting, preferably with a focus on outpatient services.
