Senior Accountant

Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Orangeburg, NY. The Senior Accountant will oversee accounts payable, credit card accounts, and Union Benefits processing. The role will also assist with audits. Details of the role include: Accounts Payable Processing Enter Purchase Orders and confirm appropriate documentation and authorization Process Vendor and Subcontractor invoices: Obtain proper internal approvals from Project Managers and President and confirm proper documentation for received goods or services. Enter vendor invoices into accounting system, ensuring correct GL codes and job cost codes. Confirm appropriate waivers from subcontractors Initiate Payment Processing: Ensure proper documentation and approvals and that payments have been received from GCs. Select invoices for payment Respond to vendor inquiries and internal staff Maintain organized digital and physical files Credit Card Processing Compliance: Ensure all purchases have proper receipts and have been reviewed. Follow up as needed Reconciliation of monthly statements Post credit transactions and confirm correct GL and job cost accounts Assist in initiating payment processing Report and upload union hours to the online union system on a monthly and weekly basis Enter invoices into accounting system and initiate payment of benefit Qualifications Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; preferably in construction, or manufacturing Strong general accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Proficiency in Sage accounting software and Excel skills Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy in data entry and invoice verification Professional communication skills; ability to communicate with operations, project teams, and leadership Analytical skills with ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies #J-18808-Ljbffr Celtic Sheet Metal, Inc.
