Job Description High Yield Fixed Income Research Associate – Columbia Threadneedle Investments, the global asset management subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial, seeks an associate to contribute to rigorous credit research, perform industry and company analysis, and collaborate with analysts and portfolio managers across asset classes. Responsibilities Perform in-depth industry analysis and research and integrate findings into actionable recommendations. Facilitate modeling and financial analysis of U.S. high‑yield companies. Implement relative value analysis for a variety of security types. Manage independent research projects as required. Interact with management teams, attending company meetings and conferences as needed. Contribute to team strategy discussions, including daily market meetings. Collaborate with colleagues across fixed income, equities, data science, and sustainable research. Provide support for senior analysts in identifying investment opportunities. Required Qualifications 0–3 years of investment research experience. BA/BS degree. Preferred Qualifications 0–3 years of experience in credit research. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in progress. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills to influence and share ideas with senior analysts, portfolio managers, and colleagues across the firm. Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills for company, industry, and economic analysis. A passion for investing that drives excitement to learn about markets and bring current ideas and high energy to the research team. Eligibility and Working Conditions Applicants must have valid work authorization that does not now or in the future require U.S. visa sponsorship (e.g., H‑1B, F‑1 CPT, F‑1 OPT, TN). In‑office collaboration is required: employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with the flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may have additional in‑office requirements, to be discussed during the hiring process. Full‑time position; exempt. Compensation and Benefits Estimated base salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on experience, knowledge, and geographic location. Most roles are eligible for variable pay—including bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives.
