Lead, Strategic Operations
Chime was created with the mission to make financial peace of mind a reality for millions of everyday people. We're one of the fastest-growing financial technology companies in the U.S., offering banking services that are helpful, easy, and free—because we want to profit with our members, not from them. Our model doesn't rely on overdraft, monthly service, minimum balance, or other member fees—it just focuses on delivering member value.
As a Strategic Operations Lead, you will be responsible for owning and orchestrating Company Planning at Chime. This role sits at the center of how we run Chime at the executive level, partnering closely with our executive team and senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Analytics to translate our company strategy and priorities into clear, actionable business plans. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves stepping into highly cross-functional work and thrives at the intersection of strategy, problem-solving, and operations — if you're an adaptable, analytical thinker who loves connecting dots, driving clarity, and making organizations run better, we'd love to meet you.
The Strategic Operations ("StratOps") team sits within Chime's COO org and plays a pivotal role in aligning teams, accelerating decisions, and ensuring we're focused on what matters most. The team runs Chime's core operating cadences — working across every function at Chime to connect strategy to execution across company planning, goal setting, product roadmapping, and key executive forums. And we "pull the thread all the way through" - we approach our role with an ownership mindset, taking on strategic, ad hoc projects as needed to help improve how Chime's leaders operate the business.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $112,000.00 and up to $155,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Run and improve Chime's operating cadences: Lead the planning and execution of company-wide rhythms like annual planning, goal setting, business reviews, and product roadmapping.
- Drive cross-functional alignment: Partner with leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, People, and Communications to ensure priorities, plans, and resources stay connected.
- Enable executive decision-making: Partner with Analytics and business leaders to prepare materials and recommendations for leadership meetings — and make sure decisions turn into action.
- Optimize how Chime plans and operates: Spot opportunities to improve how we work, and lead projects that make our operating model more effective and efficient.
- Support strategic initiatives: Jump in on high-priority projects that help Chime deliver on its most important goals.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- 6–8 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, finance, or similar generalist roles; prior experience in a similar role within tech is a plus but not required.
- Strong business acumen and an analytical mindset — you understand how different parts of a business connect, and you use data and logic to drive decisions.
- Sharp problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and storytelling ability — you can distill complex inputs into clear, actionable narratives.
- Comfortable working across teams, driving alignment, and influencing without authority.
- Highly organized, with a knack for building structure in ambiguous situations.
- A systems thinker who cares about how an organization operates and how to make it better.
At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress. We created Chime—a financial technology company, not a bank*—on the premise that core banking services should be helpful, easy, and free. Through our user-friendly tools and intuitive platforms, we empower our members to take control of their finances and work towards their goals. Whether it's starting a savings account, purchasing a first car or home, launching a business, or pursuing higher education, we're proud to have helped millions unlock their financial potential.
We're a team of problem solvers, dreamers, and builders with one shared obsession: our members. From day one, Chimers have worked tirelessly to out-hustle and out-execute competitors to bring our mission to life. Their grit and determination inspire us to work harder every day to deliver the very best experience possible. We each bring an owner's mindset to our work, refusing to be outdone and holding ourselves accountable to meet and exceed the highest bars for our teams, our company, and our members.
We believe in being bold, dreaming big, and taking risks, while also working together, embracing our diverse perspectives, and giving each other honest feedback. Our culture remains deeply entrepreneurial, encouraging every Chimer to see themselves as stewards of our mission to help everyday Americans unlock their financial progress.
We know that to achieve our mission, we must earn and keep people's trust—so we hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity in everything we do. These aren't just words on a wall—our values are embedded in every aspect of our business, serving as a north star that guides us as we work to help millions achieve their financial potential.
Because if we don't—who will?
*Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC.
