Work Environment

The role is performed onsite within our hospital facility, providing a vibrant, collaborative environment where healthcare professionals work hand-in-hand. Our practice operates Monday to Friday, with hours totaling 40 per week, culminating daily at 5:00 pm. This setting allows you to engage with multiple healthcare disciplines and contribute to a dynamic team while serving a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain detailed patient histories to assess health conditions.

• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including blood tests and imaging studies, to formulate accurate diagnoses.

• Diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions, both acute and chronic, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.

• Prescribe and manage medications, making adjustments based on patient responses and treatment effectiveness.

• Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure continuity of care and compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients regarding their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive health measures.

• Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding disease management and health promotion strategies.

• Work collaboratively with our team of MDs and fellow NPs to enhance patient care through a team-oriented approach.

• Stay updated on the latest medical research and healthcare policy changes to advance your clinical knowledge and contribute to the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary care practice focuses on adult and geriatric patient populations, addressing a spectrum of health issues from preventive care to chronic illness management. As a Physician Assistant, you will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, requiring culturally competent communication and personalized care strategies that resonate with each individual.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• A valid Physician Assistant license from the State of New York is mandatory.

• Must hold a current PA-C certification and possess a DEA number.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in primary care, acute care, or a related specialty.

• Strong knowledge of patient care regulations and proven patient management skills.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong ethical foundation.

• A proactive team player with an enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in family health, internal medicine, cardiology, or urgent care is strongly preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency is a plus, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
