Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing you the flexibility to support students from various settings while collaborating with local educators, parents, and community organizations. Your work hours will typically follow a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in alignment with the school calendar, including breaks and holidays. Flexibility may be required for special events, parent-teacher conferences, and student workshops.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs through interviews, surveys, and collaboration with educators.

• Develop tailored intervention plans for students facing academic challenges, focusing on both short-term and long-term support strategies.

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing issues including behavior management, self-esteem, peer relationships, and crisis intervention.

• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify strategies that promote social-emotional development and academic success.
\n
• Facilitate referrals to specialized services or community resources for students requiring additional support.
\n
• Advocate fiercely for students' rights, ensuring access to services that empower them within the educational system.

• Conduct home visits when necessary, building rapport with families to provide comprehensive support and guidance.

• Organize and lead workshops and educational sessions for students, parents, and staff, focusing on critical topics such as bullying prevention and mental health awareness.

• Maintain detailed records of all student interactions, assessments, and interventions while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.

• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in school social work by pursuing ongoing professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on students from diverse backgrounds, including those dealing with emotional disturbances, behavioral challenges, and the effects of socioeconomic factors on their education. You will work with a wide range of age groups and will need an adaptable approach to cater to individual needs effectively, while also supporting families in navigating educational and community resources.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.

• Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in social work, preferably in an educational or community setting.

• Familiarity with laws and ethical standards governing educational and social services.

Compensation and Benefits\n
