About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Director of Product Development to bring our next generation of nail lacquers to life. This role sits at the center of Product Design, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations – turning ambitious ideas into products customers can’t wait to get their hands on. What You’ll Do Product Development Leadership Own end-to-end product development from concept through production readiness Partner with project management to build timelines across multiple product launches Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks early and develop plans to address them Drive alignment and accountability across teams to keep projects moving forward Lead cross-functional problem-solving when challenges arise Product Stewardship Champion product excellence using a strong eye for color, finish, trend, and customer behavior Evaluate concepts, shades, components, and packaging – pushing teams beyond the expected Oversee Product Design workflows and help teams develop the strongest possible solutions Surface tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to support informed decision making Ensure products are positioned for success Customer & Product Insights Monitor product performance and customer feedback for patterns and early warning signs Investigate recurring concerns and partner with internal teams to determine root causes Translate customer insights into actionable product development opportunities Cross-Functional & Team Leadership Partner closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations throughout development Facilitate alignment across teams with competing priorities Manage Product Design workflows, priorities, and resource allocation Develop systems and processes that improve how products move from idea to launch What You Bring 8+ years in product development, or adjacent consumer product disciplines Strong product judgment, creative instincts, and exceptional attention to detail Deep understanding of color, finishes, trends, and what drives customer excitement and purchase behavior Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive decisions Excellent organizational, planning, and project leadership skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Beauty, cosmetics, or adjacent consumer product experience preferred What Success Looks Like You spot risks before they become fire drills You turn ambiguity into a plan and a plan into action You know when to push for one more iteration and when it’s time to decide You sweat the details without losing sight of the bigger picture You care deeply about creating products customers will genuinely love Galactic Perks Medical, dental, and vision benefits covered 75% Unlimited vacation / paid time off with minimum use requirements 12 weeks paid parental leave + additional 4 weeks flex return to work program 401k with 4% company match Home office expense reimbursement Generous employee discount Work Environment This is an on-site role based in Passaic and Jersey City, NJ.
