As part of its Digital Transformation initiative, AMPORTS is modernizing manual processes into scalable, governed digital solutions.Salary Range: $83,518 - $100,224The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) supports AMPORTS' enterprise Digital Transformation initiative by documenting business processes and developing digital solutions that improve operational efficiency and data accuracy. This role partners closely with stakeholders across departments to capture current-state workflows and translate them into scalable web applications and automated processes. The BSA operates as a hands-on execution resource, balancing process modeling with solution development while ensuring alignment with IT governance standards. Success in this role is measured by the delivery of accurate process documentation, effective digital tools, and measurable reductions in manual effort.Essential FunctionsConduct structured discovery sessions with stakeholders to document current-state business processes across departments.Develop detailed swim-lane process diagrams using Visio or equivalent tools, capturing roles, systems, decision points, and data flows.Maintain and update a centralized Process Registry, classifying processes by digital and automation readiness.Validate documented processes with stakeholders and obtain formal approval prior to solution development.Translate approved process documentation into digital solutions, including web applications and Power Automate workflows.Develop applications using approved AMPORTS architecture, templates, and AI-assisted tools.Ensure all development aligns with IT governance standards, including Azure DevOps pipelines and environment controls.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data dictionaries, API routes, and system logic.Execute functional and system testing, including AI-generated test cases, and document defects and results.Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.Build and maintain Power Automate flows for eligible processes, ensuring proper documentation and governance compliance.Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and backlog refinement.Provide regular status updates to IT leadership on progress, risks, and deliverables.Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions.CompetenciesStructured thinking and process analysisStrong execution discipline and adherence to standardsEffective stakeholder communication and facilitationAttention to detail and documentation accuracyProblem-solving and analytical thinkingAdaptability in a fast-evolving technical environmentLearning agility with new tools and platformsCollaboration across cross-functional teamsAccountability for deliverables and timelinesAI-enabled productivity mindsetSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct reportsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience2–4 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar roleExperience documenting business processes using swim-lane diagrams or equivalent methodologiesHands-on experience with at least one of the following: web application development, Power Apps, or Power AutomateExperience working within or alongside an enterprise IT functionProficiency with Microsoft Visio or equivalent process modeling toolsWorking knowledge of SQL, including reading and interpreting stored proceduresExperience with requirements gathering, documentation, and UAT coordinationProficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) for documentation or development supportPreferred Education and ExperienceExperience with React and modern JavaScript frameworksFamiliarity with Node.js and REST API developmentExperience with Azure SQL or SQL Server developmentKnowledge of Azure services (App Service, Key Vault, Entra ID)Experience with Microsoft Power Automate cloud flowsFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologiesExperience using Azure DevOps for work tracking and CI/CD pipelinesKnowledge of BPMN or formal process modeling standardsIndustry experience in logistics, supply chain, or port operationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to translate business processes into technical solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities across projects and departmentsClear and professional written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and within a team environmentTechnical documentation and system design understandingFamiliarity with automation and workflow optimization conceptsAbility to interpret and apply governance and architecture standardsStrong organizational and time management skillsWork EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with flexibility for remote work as approvedOccasional travel to terminal sites for process discovery and stakeholder engagementPhysical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting and computer useOccasional walking and standing during site visitsPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull-time roleStandard business hours with occasional extended hours during project milestonesTravelOccasional travel to terminal locationsWork Authorization / Security Clearance (if applicable)Must be eligible to work in the United StatesTWIC eligibility may be required depending on terminal access needsDisclaimer + EEO StatementAMPORTS is an equal opportunity employer.
