Infrastructure Engineer - SQL Server Database Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts, with at least three years of applied experience.
• Experience with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or another RDBMS.
• Database design and development experience, including writing T-SQL and creating database objects such as stored procedures and views.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI tools in infrastructure engineering workflows, with careful validation and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalate uncertainty, and ensure outcomes meet resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
• Working experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, reporting tools such as SSRS, and analytics tools such as SSAS.
• Experience managing databases, including performance tuning and security.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective solutions.
• Technical expertise across the software lifecycle, including design, implementation, and delivery.
• Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages.
• Experience in at least two of these areas: databases, Windows/Unix/Linux environments, large-scale software development, or security software development.
• Preferred proficiency in Python, Django REST Framework, Ansible, JavaScript, Linux, shell scripting, or REST APIs.
• Experience developing frameworks that improve developer efficiency, release velocity, code health, and technical standards.
• Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages.
• Experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate across or migrate between public and private clouds.
• Understanding of, or experience with, agile and lean practices.
• Experience with Git or another version control system.
• Ability to collaborate across roles and contribute to shared goals.

• Apply infrastructure engineering expertise and problem-solving methods to moderately scoped projects, improving data and systems operating at scale and ensuring end-to-end application monitoring.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI tools to support monitoring, capacity analysis, and documentation; validate outputs and handle operational data in line with sensitivity and security requirements.
• Resolve operational issues and determine when and how to escalate them.
• Break down technical problems using appropriate approaches while considering upstream and downstream systems, data, and technical impacts.
• Lead daily activities for standard capacity-process applications, working with application and infrastructure teams to identify capacity risks and track remediation.
• Make significant decisions on projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
• Use reusable, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows, validating changes against resiliency and security expectations.
• Contribute to a scalable Microsoft SQL Server database platform and collaborate across database product offerings as we expand from our private cloud to public cloud providers.
