Chief of Cardiac Surgery

Lead a high-volume cardiac surgery service with strong referrals, excellent support, and the opportunity to shape long-term growth across two sites. The University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine seek a BE/BC Cardiac Surgeon to serve as the Inaugural Chief of the MyMichigan Health Cardiac Surgery Program, a faculty role based at MyMichigan Health in Midland, Michigan. - Develop a cardiac program with excellent support
- Step into strong clinical volume and referrals
- Lead as the inaugural Chief of the MyMichigan Health Cardiac Surgery Program
- Shape a cardiac-only service line with 25% administrative time
- Hold University of Michigan faculty employment and benefits while practicing at MyMichigan Health
- Lead team building and partner across MyMichigan Health and Michigan Medicine to build a unified cardiac surgery program
- Direct 600+ annual open-heart and structural heart procedures across 2 sites
- Lead 320+ open cases and 200+ transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures annually
- Grow a cardiac surgery group planned to expand to 3 surgeons
- Build with interventional, heart failure, and electrophysiology specialists, plus dedicated support staff
- Work with cardiac-trained anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and a dedicated structural heart team
