Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Albany, where our healthcare professionals work closely to provide integrated care. The PA will operate within a fast-paced environment, encountering diverse medical cases daily. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to diagnose a variety of acute episodic conditions, develop treatment plans, and implement them effectively under the supervision of licensed physicians.
• Perform necessary medical procedures, assist in surgical operations when required, and provide follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies tailored specifically to their needs.
• Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation to ensure proper tracking of clinical care and facilitate quality assurance measures.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions while adhering to all established protocols and guidelines.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications within the extent of your professional licensure to expedite patient care.
• Promote health maintenance activities, including preventive health measures and the importance of self-care skills, through patient education and counseling efforts.
• Assist in managing patient flow through effective triage and other nursing duties to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in providing high-quality healthcare services.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or management team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a diverse population, including both adult and pediatric patients. Your ability to relate to individuals of varying backgrounds and ages is critical. The PA will be involved in assessing and treating a range of conditions, from minor injuries such as cuts and sprains to common illnesses like colds and flu. Ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, while effectively communicating health information, is paramount.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Experience in urgent care or emergency room settings.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to effectively prioritize patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive patient-provider relationship.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a hospital or urgent care environment with a focus on pediatric and adult emergency cases.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and patient management.
• Experience with wound care and laceration management.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, between USD 140,000 and 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
