Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of acute medical conditions and injuries under the guidance of supervising physicians, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations and protocols.
• Perform procedures, such as suturing lacerations or administering injections, as appropriate, maintaining a high standard of care and patient safety.
• Educate patients on their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures to enhance their overall health, utilizing teach-back methods to ensure comprehension.
• Document patient encounters comprehensively and accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring all treatment plans and follow-ups are clearly outlined and communicated with the team.
• Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while providing compassionate care and support throughout their treatment journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will engage with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors, each presenting a variety of acute care needs. Our urgent care center is particularly focused on treating non-life-threatening conditions that require immediate attention, such as minor injuries, illnesses, and preventative health measures. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to function independently within the scope of practice.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills essential for a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in urgent care or emergency medicine.

Compensation and Benefits
