Work Environment

This full-time position requires onsite work within a hospital setting, where you will engage with patients and their families in our state-of-the-art clinic. You will typically work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with evenings occasionally necessary for patient consultations. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in close collaboration with physicians.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and order necessary diagnostic tests, such as MRIs, X-rays, or lab work, to inform patient care decisions.
• Administer various injections, including trigger point and joint injections, to provide immediate relief to patients suffering from chronic pain.
• Prescribe medications and establish effective pain management strategies tailored to the needs of each patient.
• Continuously monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans based on their response to therapy.
• Educate patients and their families on effective pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications that support overall health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and share insights on optimizing patient care.
• Oversee patients’ overall health, addressing any emerging concerns while promoting wellness and preventive care strategies.
• Engage in continuous professional development through research and educational opportunities to stay abreast of advances in pain management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in Pain Management, you will serve a diverse patient population that includes individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions, as well as those recovering from surgeries. The clinic also caters to patients with long-term disabilities and other complex health issues. Your role will directly influence their recovery journey and enhance their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A valid New York State Physician Assistant license, with certification as a PA-C.
• Active DEA and NPI numbers are required to prescribe medications.
• Demonstrated experience working as a Physician Assistant in clinical or hospital settings.

Preferred Experience

• Experience specifically in pain management or related fields is highly preferred.
• Prior practice in acute care, internal medicine, cardiology, family health, urgent care, or emergency departments would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with health and patient care regulations, as well as excellent communication skills, is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a generous sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 to welcome you to our team.
