Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify pain levels and health status, including reviewing medical history and current medications.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians, tailoring approaches to specific patient needs.
• Assist in a variety of interventional pain management procedures, such as injections, nerve blocks, and other minimally invasive techniques, under the guidance of a physician.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and non-pharmacological interventions according to established protocols and patient needs, ensuring the safety and efficacy of care.
• Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and feedback from patients.
• Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of adherence to treatment regimens.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on a diverse patient population, including individuals dealing with acute and chronic pain resulting from conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. The PA will be responsible for understanding the unique challenges faced by these patients, ensuring that each treatment plan is not only medically sound but also empathetic to their psychological and emotional needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution is required.
• Must possess a current Physician Assistant license in New York State, with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Strong foundational knowledge in pain management or a related field is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of various pain conditions and treatment methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
