Work Environment\n

This role will primarily be remote, allowing you to connect with clients from the comfort of your home while providing essential mental health services. You will join a multidisciplinary team of geriatric psychiatrists, other mental health professionals, and support staff, all committed to a collaborative approach that ensures comprehensive patient care. While the core working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, flexibility is required, as occasional evening shifts may be necessary to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that consider each patient's unique circumstances, including emotional, cognitive, and physical health factors.

• Develop tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based interventions that guide the therapeutic process and adapt as needed over time.

• Provide individual and family therapy sessions focused on managing geriatric psychiatric conditions, partnering with patients to improve their coping strategies.

• Work alongside geriatric psychiatrists and other team members to ensure a seamless integration of services and continuity of care for our patients.

• Offer crisis intervention when necessary, equipping patients and their families with the resources to handle mental health emergencies.

• Deliver educational resources on mental health topics to patients and their families to promote understanding and reduce stigma associated with mental illness in older adults.

• Maintain exhaustive and confidential documentation in line with healthcare regulations and ethical standards to support effective treatment and case management.

• Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development exercises to continuously enhance your skills and stay updated on industry best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is the geriatric population, a group that presents unique psychological health issues, often compounded by chronic illness, loss of autonomy, and transitional life challenges. You will work directly with elderly individuals facing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment disorders. Your engagement and support will significantly impact their mental and emotional well-being, guiding them towards improved outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure in the state of California as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.

• At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience working with geriatric clients is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions.

• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting individual and family therapy interventions with elderly clients, focusing on building strong rapport and trust.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to a patient-centered and empathetic approach.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with relevant computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
