Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ER, ER Holding, or Medical/Surgical Telemetry License: Valid nursing license in hand at time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience: 3:1 - Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred - Experience in community hospitals, LTAC, and Trauma levels I and II is preferred Description: The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting. Candidates must have some ER experience noted in their work history. Experience in ER observation/holding or medical/surgical telemetry is also required. Care will be provided to a diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census in the unit averages around 32 patients. Candidates will work within an interdisciplinary support team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Special skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and renal failure management. Additional competencies include management of dysrhythmias and knowledge of emergency protocols. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to utilize their clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are expected to be proactive in patient care and contribute to a collaborative team dynamic. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of cancellation.
