As an Assistant Cafe Lead, You are an ambassador for our cafe operations, supporting our General Manager with setting a positive tone for our teams and creating unforgettable moments for our customers. The daily operations consist of managing staff, ensuring food/drink safety and quality standards, driving sales, and ensuring a smooth, welcoming guest experience every day.

The Assistant Café Leads lead by example; jumping behind the bar when needed, sharing feedback, and keeping the café running efficiently, cleanly, and on brand. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is ready to take the next step into leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

DRIVE MY SUCCESSION

• Work to build a passionate, high-performing team, coaching and inspiring them to success.
• Validate completion of all new hire training.
• Give feedback to Baristas and Shift leaders as needed.
• Hold your team accountable with company policies.
• Foster a high-energy, enjoyable workplace and address any concerns promptly.
• Problem solves any facilities needed or concern inside the space.

OWN THE GUEST EXPERIENCE

• Validate food and beverage quality and servability, providing coaching when needed.
• Invest in continuous improvement of your personal barista skill set; lead by the best example.
• Lead shifts by example, providing hands-on support behind the bar as needed.
• Deliver and model warm, upbeat guest service that reflects Cha Cha Matcha’s values
• Conduct Store checklist to ensure the cafe is up to standard of cleanliness.
• Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and sanitation.
• Responds to any guests concern, and proactively creates plans to address them

DELIVER FINANCIAL SUCCESS

• Analyze the Cafe results (P&L) alongside the General manager to identify areas of improvement.
• Review inventory counts, cogs, reviews %, and labor using the weekly flash report.
• Work closely with the shift leader, to ensure accurate ordering and inventory.
• Support company strategic initiatives in partnership with your General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous café, barista, or hospitality experience required
• Prior shift lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
• A positive attitude with a passion for hospitality and team development
• Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays
