Work Environment

This position is located onsite within a collaborative rehabilitation facility in Port Jervis, where the focus is on nurturing the development and rehabilitation of young patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to assess their needs, abilities, and goals, developing individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Implement and monitor treatment plans tailored for various conditions, including neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, and developmental delays, ensuring effective therapies aimed at improving function.
• Educate families about their child's conditions, home exercise programs, and strategies for supporting recovery outside of therapy sessions.
• Focus on delivering high-quality therapy, managing a patient volume of approximately two patients per hour while maintaining attention to detail and individualized care.
• Regularly document patient progress using electronic health records, ensuring compliance with best practices in documentation and care protocols.
• Engage in ongoing education and professional development, contributing to your skill enhancement and staying abreast of new therapies and techniques in pediatric care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on the pediatric population, ranging from infants to adolescents who require outpatient physical therapy. You will work closely with children struggling with various physical challenges, including congenital disabilities, sports-related injuries, and developmental disorders. The therapist's interventions will play a critical role in helping these young patients achieve their mobility and functional goals.

Qualifications

• A valid New York Physical Therapy License and current CPR certification are mandatory for this position.
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required; candidates with a Master's or Doctoral degree are preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to accurately diagnose and create effective treatment plans are essential.
• Proficiency in implementing patient-centered interventions that address patients' diverse physical therapy needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, although all candidates will be considered regardless of background.
• Experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred, as it offers familiarity with common challenges faced by pediatric patients.

Compensation and Benefits
