Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown

Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Expected start November 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a stepdown/progressive care unit with patient ratios of 1:3–4 (stepdown) and 1:4–6 (med surg)
• Manage and perform tracheostomy care , chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
• Monitor and care for patients on cardiac drips and stable ventilated patients
• Operate unit equipment including lifts, chest tubes, and associated monitoring devices
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to other med surg and progressive care units as needed; expected schedule includes 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Experience working with tracheostomy patients is required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience with Cerner EMR
• Background in progressive care, stepdown, or IMC settings
• Demonstrated flexibility and high level of clinical competence
