Key Responsibilities\n

In your role as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist, you will:

• Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate the severity and impact of mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that align with their specific goals, preferences, and life circumstances.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.

• Continuously monitor clients’ progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan based on real-time feedback and outcomes.

• Engage in regular collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure an integrated care approach.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders, applying this knowledge to enhance treatment effectiveness.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation for all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans, adhering to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to refine clinical skills and stay updated on best practices in mental health therapy.

• Advocate for clients by promoting awareness and understanding of mood disorders and working to reduce stigma in broader communities and settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals grappling with mood-related disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Clients may range widely in terms of demographics, age, and background, providing you with valuable experiences to enhance your clinical skills and broaden your understanding of mental health issues across different populations.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Must hold a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly in managing mood disorders.

• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and the ability to liaise effectively with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• A proven track record of successful treatment outcomes in previous clinical settings.

Preferred Experience\n

A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a relevant mental health setting is preferred. Experience in providing remote therapy and familiarity with telehealth platforms will be considered an asset, enhancing your ability to support clients effectively in a virtual setting.
