Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Intermediate Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a Level I trauma center. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment, with a focus on telemetry, neuro step-down, and IMC/stepdown patients. The position requires adherence to clinical standards and collaborative team engagement. Job Details Position/Specialty: IMCU / Intermediate Care Unit RN Shift: 3x12 Days (0645-1915) Schedule: Dayshift, 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Active Illinois Registered Nurse license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, a minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience, telemetering, neuro, and IMC/stepdown care experience. Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, experience with arrhythmia interpretation, use of rapid response teams, and post-cardiac procedures. Responsibilities: Monitoring and managing cardiac and neurological patients, operating equipment such as ventilators and chest tubes, administering medications including cardiac and vasoactive drips, and providing care to diverse adult patient diagnoses. Open to float within scope as needed. Submission Requirements: Candidates must be pre-closed at the time of submission, with SSN and DOB provided, and available interview windows. RTO (Leave) restrictions are ideally no more than 5 days, with a requirement to work at least 2 major holidays. Additional Information: Experience with Cerner charting system preferred. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. The unit averages 34 adult patients per day, with a high throughput environment requiring quick patient assessments.
